The final rule, which is required by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), will apply to many domestic and foreign firms that manufacture, process, pack or hold human food. This rule will require a food facility to have and implement preventive controls to significantly minimize or prevent the occurrence of hazards that could affect food manufactured, processed, packed, or held by the facility. This action is intended to prevent or, at a minimum, quickly identify foodborne pathogens before they get into the food supply.

Ms. Jenny Scott, the senior advisor from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, who leads the FDA teams on the Preventive Controls for Human Food rule and guidance, presents  insights into this important rule, including the content of the rule, what implications may exist, and how these final rules impact you and your company. Ruth Petran, CFS moderates a live Q&A session following Ms. Scott's presentation.
