There has been a shift toward personalized nutrition (in accordance with evidence-based practice) in the sport and exercise professional, educational, and research arena. This webcast introduces attendees to the concept of personalized nutrition, within a sport and exercise perspective. It provides an introduction to assessing individual athlete energy and nutritional requirements, and how to use this information in developing tailored nutritional intervention and adjunct food and fluid production (product development). Examples of current novel and innovative assessment techniques and food products are given to support the theoretical delivery- showing how to bridge the gap between theory, production and application.

Learning objectives:
1. Describe appropriate assessment technique to establish individual energy/nutritional requirements of athletes, and their practical application.
2. Broadly understand how to use assessment data to apply personalized nutritional intervention around sport and exercise regimes.
3. Broadly understand the production and use of tailored sport and exercise nutrition product within personalized nutritional programs of athletes.
