Speakers:

Namrata Karki Kandel, Ph.D., is a Product Development Manager at Ortho Molecular Products Inc. located at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA. She is an active member of Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and is a past Chair of IFT Biotechnology Division (2019-20) and is currently serving in the IFT Division Champion Team. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Food Science at Louisiana State University, USA. She graduated from Kathmandu University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. She grew up in Nepal, also known as the land of Mount Everest. Her favorite food: momo (Nepali dumplings) She is happily married and is a proud mom of a beautiful toddler girl. She is a strong believer of “Optimism is the foundation of courage”. Besides her mom, she considers Indra Nooyi as one of her role models. She enjoys reading personal development books and finds herself volunteering at non-profit organizations in her spare time.

Tanuj Motwani, PhD, MBA, works as a Principal Scientist in the Dips and Salsa R & D Team at PepsiCo. During his 10+ years in the food industry, he has led several process engineering, product development, capital project and lean initiatives which have resulted in innovation/renovation product launches across North America, Europe and Asia. He is an active member of IFT since 2003 and has served on the Leadership teams of Dairy Foods, Carbohydrate and Food Engineering Divisions besides being a part of AMSPAP and Hot Topics workgroups. He has a PhD in Food Science (with focus on Process Engineering), post-doctoral experience in Chemical Engineering and an executive MBA. He lives in Plano, TX with his wife, two kids and their family dog.
