One crucial challenge food scientists face is communicating the value of food research to consumers, regulatory agencies, media and scientists in other fields. The complexity of food science advances, multifaceted consumer demands, and misinformation about food science and technology require the use of effective communication skills. In this interactive workshop Dr. Carolyn J. Kroehler, associate director of the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech, will guide attendants through exercises that will help them learn to translate their research for different audiences. Students and professionals alike will benefit from improving their ability to engage public audiences and communicate effectively.

Technology requirement: attendees should have their cameras and microphones on for this interactive workshop

All IFT webcasts are free for IFT Premier and Student members.
